With more than two decades of successful leadership experience to his name, Nguyen, an MBA graduate from the Southern California University’s international programme in Vietnam, has helped SonKim Group pioneer unique lifestyle-cum-business ideas in real estate, fashion, retail and media; building highly successful partnerships with government, as well as local and international firms.
As chairman of the SonKim group, Nguyen upholds the strict high standards and quality of the company’s business operations, including real estate arm SonKim Land Corporation and its subsidiaries.
“The Real Estate Personality of the Year award is an honour not only to me but also for SonKim Land,” he said. “This award is a milestone that remarks our development direction over the past year, especially with the Gateway Thao Dien project.”
Set to create a new standard of living in the vibrant Thao Dien, District 2 of Ho Chi Minh City, the Gateway Thao Dien was launched in May 2015 and is one of two high-profile luxury residential projects unveiled by SonKim Land this year, the other being The Nassim, also in HCMC.
“Vietnam’s property market is ready for luxury products; buyers deserve high quality products with international standards. This understanding guides SonKim Land to invest in luxury real estate segment, based on true market demand,” Nguyen said, adding that his vision is to see the market in the country’s largest city thrive once more.
“SonKim Land focuses on luxury property projects and aims to bring high quality products with international standard to Vietnam market, as our strategic vision.” He said that the amended housing regulation was a good sign for property market in Vietnam as this would stimulate the consumption for the luxury real estate sector.
Nguyen will be personally accepting his honour at the inaugural black-tie gala dinner and awards presentation ceremony of the Vietnam Property Awards, which will take place on Friday, 14 August at the InterContinental Asiana Saigon in HCMC.
CBRE forecasts that high-end housing prices in Saigon will surge by 150% in the near future, while the overall luxury segment will see a 200% price increase in the next three years. Meanwhile, Knight Frank estimates the number of super-rich individuals in Vietnam will grow by 170% over the next decade, one of the highest growth rates in the world. Which strategies have real estate investors drawn up to take advantage of this golden market opportunity? Andy Han Suk Jung, managing director of SonKim Land’s Residential Group, elaborates on his company’s strategic vision.
According to analysis by prominent real estate consultancies, the local high-end apartment segment is moving in a positive direction while attracting strong interest from both domestic and foreign investors. This is a highly competitive segment that requires developers to craft an appropriate positioning strategy in order to carve out a prestigious niche in the market.
